Asus made the best netbook, launching the first generation of Eee PCs in 2007. It was they who launched the first model, which also had the widest range in this segment. Unlike other manufacturers, Asus insisted on believing in these mini laptops and has steadily improved to offer consumers the best portable experience.
Also the main shareholder in the "business", Intel, working hard on its dedicated processors for netbooks to improve their performance and reduce power consumption. As you know, energy consumption leads to a reduced temperature of better component functionality.
We can say that X101CH looks great on the outside. The test received came with a red casing with a nice design and highlighted. The look is very close to the first version X101, 10.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and the new generation keyboard keys is easy to hold and you can better differentiate them. Speaking of display, left a good impression because it is matte.

ASUS Eee PC X101CH weaknesses:
- No upgradeable;
- Only 1 GB RAM;
- Doesn't have the 3G or Bluetooth module.
In terms of weight, ASUS Eee PC X101CH measure about 20mm. It is not thin like a ultrabook nor too thick. Weight? Easy like a snowflake. So easy that barely reach a kilogram.
On the left side we find the well-known, beloved and most often-used VGA connector, power connector (which again compete in thickness with a new generation of Nokia charger), USB 2.0, HDMI port and an SDXC card reader.

I admit, it moves quite well, is quite sensitive and very well integrated into the case. It has a fine delineation but retain the same opinion, if it had been brushed with a soft surface would have been perfect.
As you can see it with its Atom N2600 1,6 GHz/1 MB/DualCore/HyperThreading processor, the system has a decent configuration. The operating system that comes pre-installed is Windows 7 Starter, a little less system requirements than Home Edition or Professional versions. The only problem I have with this model is related to RAM. Only 1 GB. I cannot refrain and be grumpy about this and I have my reasons that I describe to you further.
First, understand that there are boundaries between mini laptops in the series, dividing the price and configuration. Why the RAM should be a key point? Probably because it is so cheap that allows a high margin of profit for the manufacturer.
Where do you put that the model does not allow an upgrade ... yes, the memory is directly on the motherboard and there isn't an upgrade slot. So often you get used to a Windows 7 Starter which will move a little more difficult in time but you can install a Linux to be a little more relaxed.

The video card is, as mentioned earlier, integrated - Intel HD 3600. From a process that consumes 3.5W you can not expect very much. It has intel HD 3600 DirectX 10 compatible, but will give you gaming performance. Probably 2-3 years some titles will run at native resolution in this decent netbook, but no more. It is able to play HD material and here I speak about HDMI output not about the native resolution of the screen.
Regarding multimedia playback in HD or Full HD, I can say that a shortened material can be loaded directly into RAM free, of course, can be played in 1080p, but only if it has a lower compression. Heavy materials such as HD movies in .Mkv or .TS can be decoded at a resolution of 720p if we "play" a bit with the player controls.
